Event Crew
Bicycle Rides Northwest (BRNW) is a nonprofit organization that operates bicycle tours each summer. We’ve been doing tours since 1986, and have a reputation for the best customer service in the business. Our crew members are temporary employees of the organization, and they’re paid a salary for each event. We work very hard, while enjoying the camaraderie of a shared team adventure – serving our riders while having as much fun as possible doing it.
We’re self-supported on the route, with our own vehicles, drivers, catering operation, shower trucks, portable toilets, bike mechanics, massage therapists, yoga, an acupuncturist and more.
Some of our crew teams support the riders on the course, while others focus on moving the camp. On the road, it’s about keeping the riders safe, fed and having fun. In camp, it takes a lot of teamwork to create a “tent city” and have it fully operational before riders arrive in camp.
You can find information on our 2025 dates and routes through our homepage. We start forming and finalizing our crew teams in February each year.
Thank you for your interest!

BRNW Crew Teams
Camp Central – This is the center of activity in camp. Information, snacks, drinks, first aid, lost and found, etc., are available here. The riders congregate in the Camp Central area to visit and relax. Team members must be proactive, good with people and committed to creating a fun, relaxing experience for the riders. There is physical labor involved setting up and taking down equipment.
Construction/Baggage – This team sets up and takes down the main camp infrastructure: dining canopies, tables and chairs. They also load and unload rider baggage each time we change camp location. This is a good team for people who like to work hard early in the day, and get done in the early afternoon. It’s the most physically challenging job on the event.
Rest Stops – BRNW is renowned for our excellent rest stop experience and atmosphere. We offer great snacks, specialty foods prepared on-site, refreshing beverages (and pickle shots!), music, chairs and a friendly crew. This is a very service-oriented job for outgoing people. We typically have three people on each of our two rest stop teams, and they work closely together to deliver a great experience for the riders. This team heads out early to set up on the route, and each team needs one person capable of driving a large box truck.
Routes – This team is responsible for marking each day’s route with chalk, cones and signage to ensure a clear and safe route for the riders. They also pick up gear after the last rider is safely through each section or route stop, and prep the next day’s route. Lots of driving/stopping, along with helping riders and other teams as they support the riders.
SAG (Support And Gear) – These road saviors monitor and support the riders on the route. We typically have five SAG drivers, covering the riders in groups through the day and ready to provide mechanical, first aid or other assistance. You must have a clean driving record and be able to drive safely all day, and communicate with the other SAG drivers and teams professionally to ensure a safe result for all riders. This team works a long day, and the job requires you to deal with riders in some challenging moments – a calm personality is a must. Riders are deeply appreciative of SAG support.
Sustainability – Our Sustainability team works to reduce our waste footprint. This includes implementing re-usable mealware, gathering and disposing of food compost and recycling, and dealing with the garbage the event produces. At its heart, this team is about looking for every way we can be better stewards of the places we ride through.
Tent and Porter – We sell Tent & Porter spots on each ride; the service includes providing a rider’s tent and chairs, as well as providing door-to-door luggage service each time we move camp. and do all the setup, take-down and moving from camp to camp. Lots of tents, lots of chairs and lots of luggage. This crew primarily works in teams, so cooperation and a willingness to work hard are equally important. This is another team that works very hard for a concentrated time.
We will post a link to the online application in late December or January, when we finalize our crewing needs. Thanks!
